14A - Halfway Reflection

  1. I learned early in the semester that it is easy to get overwhelmed with all of the different assignments. I started writing everything I need to do for the entire week and dividing them by urgency and importance and that helped me keep track of all the different assignments.
  2. One week I had 2 exams and a lot of assignments due at the same time, it was really hard and I felt like giving up as I was stressed out and could not get anything done. However, I started focusing on one thing at a time until I finished it and I found myself finishing all my assignments in less time than I thought which gave me more time to study for my exams which was encouraging.
  3. My three tips are:
    1. Manage your time well.
    2. give yourself time to relax and destress so you do not burn out.
    3. do not procrastinate.

  1. Dear Maria,

I definitely agree that it is easy to get overwhelmed, especially if a student is taking challenging classes. I know the feeling of having multiple assignments and exams due during the same week, it can be stressful. However, I definitely agree with the three tips you gave: Manage your time well, give yourself time to relax, and don't procrastinate.

  2. Hi Maria,
I agree with you that being a college student can get overwhelming at times and that time management is an essential tool for success. By dividing and setting up your tasks at the beginning of the week it is much easier to map out and make time for your priorities. For me, just having everything written and planned out makes me feel less overwhelmed even when I have hectic weeks. I also agree with your tip that finding time for yourself is very important since taking a mental break can be helpful to de-stress.

  3. Hey Maria,

I can definitely relate to how overwhelming it can become when taking difficult classes. Overall, being a college student is one of the most stressful roles someone can have. Learning to manage your time is key in college courses. If procrastination hits, it can hit hard and put a damper in your entire semester. I think that your tips for doing well are great examples of things that can help one succeed. Great job!

  4. I agree with the importance of focusing on one thing at a time. Even this morning I began stressing about getting these comments in on time and finishing the rest of my work, along with studying for my finance exam, and then realized I need to take a step back and just focus on this for now and just get it done. It is very important to do this, and if done correctly this class doesn’t seem as much work as it would if you focused on everything at once.
